NASA Ready to Send Probe to the Sun, Closer Than Ever Before
For decade now scientists have failed to reach the sun despite all spacecrafts that was launched non was able to get close to the sun.
Nasa is ready to send probe robotic spacecraft to the sun. NASA claims probe spacecraft is capable of enduring fierce heat while recording atmosphere stellar that gives light to solar wind.
The prob robotic spacecraft is set to take off on August 6. Probe spacecraft is in car form. Probe will fly into sun corona with 3.8 million miles and 6.1 million kilometres from solar surface. NASA said probe will go closer to the sum than any other spacecraft before. " solar will go seven times closer to the sun than any other spacecraft before' said NASA .
"We've been studying the Sun for decades, and now we're finally going to go where the action is,"
The past probe that ggone to the sun was probe Helios 2, in 1976 came within 27 million miles , the average distance from the Sun for Earth is 93 million miles.
"It's of fundamental importance for us to be able to predict this space weather, much like we predict weather here on Earth," said Alex Young, a solar scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. "In the most extreme cases of these space weather events, it can actually affect our power grids here on Earth."
